Advising, Coaching & Support

Whether you're leading a school, navigating a transition, or seeking perspective, thoughtful support can make all the difference. Drawing on decades of experience in education and leadership, I offer calm, candid guidance tailored to your needs, so you can move forward with confidence.

“Ann’s mentorship of me and countless others has been an immeasurable gift as we’ve navigated the ladders of leadership in independent schools across the country. She offers the unique skill set of being not only a “teacher’s administrator,” but also an “administrator’s teacher.”

How I Help

  • Feeling stuck or unsure about what next role might be right for you? Struggling to balance the demands of your job? Wondering why you stay in your current role, or if it’s time to make a move? Uncertain about whether or not moving is even possible because of family obligations? Frustrated with some aspect of  managing your team? Worrying about your board?  Feeling unsupported or a little lost?

The perspective I offer can help. Perhaps you need a quick infusion of possibility or a longer relationship with weekly conversation and questions that help you center your own wants and needs to plot a course forward.

A preliminary consultation is always free of charge.

Short and long-term plans; sliding scale. Reach out.  Part of taking care of yourself means investing in yourself.

  • I coach clients on how to show up with clarity and conviction—whether preparing for a high-stakes interview, crafting a keynote, or managing a complicated presentation to the faculty. My feedback is clear, constructive, and always aimed at helping you sound like yourself — at your best.

  • A head, new or experienced, cannot always see all that’s happening in her school. Your presence in a space changes that space. Allow me time to observe a particular division, department, or area of the school about which you are curious. Together, we’d outline  your curiosities. Then, once I complete the observations, I will reflect back to you all I see, hear and sense and help design a strategy about next steps.

  • Big project looming? Need help organizing a talk or presentation or school communication? Feeling uncertain about your statement of educational philosophy? As a life-long English teacher, published author, and editor, I’m ready to help. Let me know what you need, and we will make a plan.

  • From leadership transitions to community tensions to grief and sorrow in a school, I help clients work through difficult or sensitive challenges with calm, clarity, and discretion. Together, we’ll find a path forward that’s thoughtful and practical and grounded in empathy.

  • For more than 40 years, I have written plays with children of all ages; through improv, playwriting structures, research and collaboration, I work with a group to take a topic from concept to final production. Ages 4th Grade-High School.
